EMERGENCY & SUTURING WORKSHOP
EMERGENCY & SUTURING WORKSHOP
Posted: 2 May 2017
On 24th Apirl 2017, AMRC held our first Emergency and Suturing workshop and we were excited to have Dr. Ali Baalbaki for the workshop. Dr. Baalbaki is a CMO in Emergency at the University Department of Rural Health at Broken Hill (UDRH) with a background in surgical training, Master in Trauma, and three years of experience in ED at Broken Hill where he continues his work.
During the full-day workshop, participants covered common scenarios that are encountered in the Emergency Department in rural outback Australia, as well as the approach and ‘must-knows’ when applying for job interviews in emergency positions. In the second half of the day, principles and management of suturing was discussed with a hands-on experience where participants practiced their suture technique with personal feedback. We enjoyed having the participants from different backgrounds who joined us for the workshop and received positive feedback from the workshop.
AMRC is a review centre based in Sydney and we are striving to organise more Sydney-based workshops. If there are any topics or workshops you have in mind that you would like to see offered, feel free to let us know and we will try to work towards it. Simply email info@amrc.net.au. This will help us understand which workshops are in demand and help us to organise them.
