FREE Asthma Workshop
WHAT IS GOOD ASTHMA MANAGEMENT?
Asthma is a very treatable disease. Although at present there is no cure, with good management people with asthma can lead normal, active lives.
We had an early start to the day with Asthma Workshop ran in conjunction with the National Asthma Council. The Primary Care Asthma Update covers the essentials of best-practice asthma and respiratory management for primary care health professionals. This workshop is appropriate for primary healthcare professionals including GPs, practice nurses, pharmacists, Aboriginal health practitioners, physiotherapists, and more.
For IMGs, the Primary Care Asthma Update enable doctors to familiarise themselves with asthma management in Australia and enhance good asthma management. The session also covers different types of medication and devices which is very helpful given the myriad of options available in the market.
Feedback from the participants were extremely positive as students get a chance to familiarise with asthma management in Australia, get exposed to the range of asthma devices and puffers as well as practice with placebo devices – we couldn’t get enough!
Thank you to National Asthma Council for the continuous support. For more information on Asthma Management and guidelines in Australia, refer to National Asthma Council at https://www.nationalasthma.org.au/. A range of resources are available.
